Sovereignty (True Story)

Had lunch today with a family from my church. They told me a story of their father/in-law who was from Afghanistan. Apparently while living in a foreign city studying before going back to Afghanistan, he was befriended by Christian missionaries. He was a staunch Muslim who was more pluralistic than anything wanting everyone to "agree to disagree." So the day he's supposed to leave on a plane to go back a little boy ran off with his passport. He knew the little boy and knew it was a game running through the airport chasing after him, but when he caught him the boy told him he had actually lost the passport during the game.

He stood outside the airport and sadly watched his plane take off.

Then gasped as the plane ran into the mountainside and blew up.

Even that was not enough to convince him that God had a divine plan for his life. Later that night, after he had called to make arrangements for a new passport, he had a dream. Jesus came to him and told him that he had been spared for a reason.

He woke up and ran down the street to bang on the missionaries' door... all he said was...

"I must become a Christian! How do I become a Christian?"

AND WE DOUBT OUR LIVES ARE IN THE HANDS OF GOD???

Crazy story! I wonder how many little ways God is chasing us down each day and we just miss it. Hopefully it doesn't take a crashing plane to help us see he wants our hearts.

That picture is areally, areally awesome. Like areally.
